Core Drilling

A core drill is a drill specifically designed to remove a cylinder of material, much like a hole saw. The material left inside the drill bit is referred to as the core. Core drills can be used to cut metal, rock and concrete. Core drills used for concrete are generally called Diamond Core Drills and most are water cooled. For dry drilling needs PCD bits can be used.

Slab Sawing

Slab sawing or flat sawing is used to cut horizontal surfaces such as floors, bridges and pavement. This process is sophisticated, cutting surfaces from 8 inches to 27 inches in depth to access below-slab water pipes, sewer lines and similar utilities. Other typical uses include sawing to create new machine foundations, highway patching, plumbing trenches, repairing runways and to create stairwells, elevator openings, expansion joints and decorative cuttings.

Wall Sawing

Concrete wall sawing employs a circular blade on a track-mounted machine that can climb walls and cut ceilings. It is employed to cut walls between 8 inches and 36 inches thick. Uses include cutting openings in concrete foundations, lowering foundation elevation, and full wall removal. This procedure is highly skilled, requiring smooth plum and level openings and is more expensive than other concrete cutting methods. Concrete wall sawing is dustless, vibration-free and quiet.

Wire Sawing

A wire saw is a powered saw that uses a diamond laced cable that is strung around item to be cut and coupled together.  It is spun and tension is applied causing the wire to cut as it is pulled thru the material. It will cut stone, concrete, steel and plastic as well as many other objects.
